DAY-WISE  ITINERARY

? DAY 01: KOLKATA – IMPHAL BY  FLIGHT

Today we will depart for the Imphal, the capital City of Manipur,  by morning flight around 9.30am  from Kolkata Airport(Flight scheduled to be informed shortly) Upon arrival at Imphal airport you will be transferred to Imphal hotel. After lunch you will be taken to Sangai festival ground to enjoy the cultural program.  Evening return to hotel. Overnight relaxing stay at Imphal hotel.

 

DAY 02 : IMPHAL  TOUR – INA, MAIRANG  LOKTAK  LAKE  JAPANESE WAR MUSEUM

Today morning after breakfast we will explore the most popular tourist destination of Imphal – Loktak Lake.. While you are visiting an array of places in Imphal, the Loktak Lake can be your unwinding spot after a long day of excursions. This magnificent freshwater lake happens to be the largest one in the whole state. The reason behind its nickname “floating lake” is the presence of organic substances (Phumdis) floating on its surface. The sheer beauty of Loktak Lake is a sight for sore eyes and the best time to visit this tourist spot in Imphal is during the winter months when the “dancing deer” can be spotted near the lake. Besides this, We will visit one of most sacred places in the history of India’s freedom struggle . It is here the Indian Nation Army (INA) hoisted its flag for the first time and set up a temporary HQ. The museum calls for better upkeep in terms of facilities like lighting , toilet and may be guided tours. It is situated in one of the bylanes of Moirang town in Manipur. The museum depicts a very important chapter of Indian history and of Indian independence struggle. The centre piece of the museum is a big map showing how Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose eluded the British and made a really astounding journey practically around the world to launch India's freedom-by-force movement. There are lots of photographs and other memorabilia pertaining to Netaji. Late afternoon return to Imphal. We could have a chance to go to festival ground if time permits. Evening return to hotel for night stay.

 

DAY 03:  IMPHAL SIGHTSEETING

Morning after breakfast start for Imphal local sightseeing, visit the ancient capitol of Manipur - Kangla fort, Shaheed Minar or Martyr’s Gate is another sightseeing spot of Imphal that is visited by tourists from all over the country. Then proceed to visit Govindaji Temple, Iskon Temple. In the afternoon walk to the EMA Market: One of the main attractions of Imphal ,what makes this market different is that it is run by women. Overnight Imphal hotel.

The Sangai Festival is a grand extravaganza celebrated every year from 21-30 November in the extremely beautiful region of Sangai in Manipur. The region is named so due to the rare species of deer that can be found only here. The Manipur Tourism Department makes sure that this eloquent celebration does not fall short on any terms as the primary goal of this festival is to promote Manipur as a promising upcoming tourist attraction. Guests and tourists from all over the world grace this festival every year  and enjoy the various cultural programmes such as the traditional Manipuri dance, and the traditional form of music that is indigenous to Manipur. The principal goal of these cultural performances is to spread awareness and educate the thousands of visitors about the rich cultural heritage of Manipur.

 

DAY 04 :  IMPHAL  – KOHIMA BY ROAD TRANSFER

Today morning after breakfast check out hotel and you will be transferred to Kohima by road. The name KOHIMA  derived from the word "Kew Hi Ma" which means the men of the land where the flower Kew Hi grows. Situated at an altitude of 1444 m above sea level, Kohima is the Capital of Nagaland. Upon arrival Kohima check in the respective hotel. If time permits we can visit the Hornbill festival ground. Check in hotel for relaxing overnight stay.

 

DAY 05 : KOHIMA FULL DAY  HORNBILL FESTIVAL CELEBRATION

The Hornbill Festival of Nagaland is one of the biggest cultural extravaganzas in the North East. It is also called the ‘Festival of Festivals‘. The Hornbill Festival is a festival to revive, protect, sustain, and promote the richness of the Naga heritage and traditions. This festival usually takes place between the 1st and the 10th of December every year in Naga Heritage Village, Kisama

It is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas. During the Hornbill Festival, all the Naga tribes come together for a week-long celebration of their cultural and traditional plight. It’s a time where all these tribes gather up to showcase their age-old traditions and come closer to knowing each other. The main events of the festival take place at the Naga Heritage Village, KisamaTraditional Naga huts and Morungs (boy’s dormitories) typical to each of the Naga tribes are built and erected in a way that closely resembles their traditional euphoria on a small hillock in Kisama. The place itself is scenic and mystical, and the festival is simply epic!

 

DAY 06 : KOHIMA FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast departure for Kohima local sightseeing -  Today morning after breakfast start our Kohima tour - visit WW II Cemetery, situated in the heart of Kohima town which reminds the enormous courage displayed by the war heroes in order to preserve our freedom for the future generation. visit the Nagaland Heritage of the native people, Angami village of Jakhama to experience the Naga culture and their daily living, Kohima State Museum- Here Handlooms & Handicrafts, Tools & Implements, Gems & Jewelry, Coins & Ancient weaponry will give you an idea of the rich Culture and. Late afternoon visit Naga local village market and Evening return back to hotel for a pleasant night stay.

 

DAY 07 :  KOHIMA – DIMAPUR – KOLKATA BY FLIGHT

Today morning after breakfast check out hotel and proceed to Dimapur Airport to board on your return Flight (Flight schedule to be informed shortly). Arrive Kolkat in the afternoon. (Tour End)
